Locus Chain Foundation Privacy Policy

The Locus Chain Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "the Foundation") complies with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws to ensure the protection of data subject rights and freedoms, processing and managing personal information in a lawful and secure manner. In accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Foundation establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to inform data subjects of the procedures and standards for the processing and protection of personal information, and to ensure that any related complaints are handled swiftly and smoothly.


1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information

The Foundation processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed will not be used for any purposes other than those stated below. In case the purpose of use changes, the necessary measures will be taken, such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • The Foundation only collects and retains personal information when necessary to ensure the best possible experience for Locus Chain wallet users.
  • The collected personal information is not stored on a separate server and cannot be recovered once the wallet extension is removed from the user's browser.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, or any part of it, you must refrain from accessing or using any part of the service.


2. Categories of Processed Personal Information

The foundation collects and uses personal information only to the extent necessary to provide the services.

  • Wallet Related Information
    We store wallet-related information, including the wallet address, to facilitate API calls and improve the user experience.

  • Wallet password and account key for identity verification and authentication.
    The password is used for identity verification, and the key is used for authentication during signing. Both are encrypted and stored securely.
    Such information is not exposed outside of the user's PC.

  • User-configured settings for convenience

    • These are features provided for user convenience, where users can voluntarily provide information..
    • If you wish to link your wallet only with authorized sites, a list of registered sites will be collected.
    • The information of any newly added network is stored when a new network is added.
    • When a service linked to the wallet is accessed on a site, the requests made to the wallet are stored.

3. Personal Information Processing and Retention Period

The Foundation processes and retains personal information for the duration specified by law or the period agreed upon by the data subject at the time of collection.

The retention and processing periods for each type of personal information are as follows.

  • Wallet Related Information
    Until the user deletes their Locus Chain wallet. However, due to the blockchain's technical characteristics, where information is distributed and stored across nodes without a central server, the account address and history will be permanently retained until the test network is terminated. The stored account address and history will be anonymized, making it no longer possible to identify the individual.

  • Account password and key for personal identification and authentication
    Until the user deletes their Locus Chain wallet

  • User-configured settings for convenience
    Until the user deletes their Locus Chain wallet


4. Details regarding the procedures and methods for destruction of personal data.

The information will be destroyed immediately once the data subject deletes the Locus Chain wallet extension. The deletion of personal information is solely carried out by the data subject, and the foundation does not participate in the process.


5. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

The foundation takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information.

The data subject can access their wallet at any time to view, correct, or delete their personal information directly.
